  1. I just got a sharp MiniDV camcorder and need some help on how to transfer the video to my pc to edit or burn to CD or back to miniDV in camcorder. It has a serial RS232C ouput and also an IEEE1394. I guess I need to buy some sort of IEEE card for my pc and a cable for the camera. Is that all? What software do I need to capture the stuff from the camera and then edit. Can I then output it back to the tape on the camera?

    Thanks

    Please email response to dad12s@hotmail.com

    Thanks again

  2. All you should need is a firewire card and either premiere or ulead also has an apparently good soft. And yes you can transfer back to minidv, you might want to check your manual on how exactly (it might be the same on all minidv but as i'm not sure that's safest)

I got a firewire card from Compusa for $29.
I come with Ulead dv studio 5.

I was told to put the video back into the cam is the option at the end of ulead 5 "finished" step.
