    Anyone know of any FREEWARE for DV (Firewire) Captures? I know there are some very good commercial products, I hvae tried to use VirutalDub, but it just locks up. Running a AMD 1.7 Ghz, with WIN2000 Pro.

    I would download the free trial of Scenalyzer and try it. It is very inexpensive (not quite free) and really works great.

    Other alternative (also not free!) is try Ulead DVD Movie Factory which has the capture facility built in.
