  1. Hi,
I've got two large TMPGEnc generated MPEG-2 files that I want to burn to dvd - no problem, I hear you say! Well, I am using DVDit SE 2.3 as SpruceUp was a bit, well, crap Now my problem is, the two files together come to about 3.9 Gbs, well within the 4.3Gb limit of a DVD-R on my Pioneer A03. Why then, does it report the project size as being 4.71 Gbs and refuses to burn it?!? It's driving me mad!! I've no really flash menus or anything - just three small ones, with two buttons each. Any ideas? Surely it shouldn't be so large?!? Please help an Irishman have a happy St. Patricks day. It's even raining here...

try to demultiplex and just use the mpeg with out the audio and see how big the size is then. u may need to reencode the audio

  3. The problem is taht DVDit LE transcodes the audio into PCM - uncompressed audio. your original files used compressed mpeg audio.

If you want to stay with DVDit you will need the PE edition which can transcode into DolbyDigital, which is another kind of compression with similar size to MPEG audio. In any case the audio transcoding in DVDit takes ******* forever.

  4. i'm not sure what the differences are between your version of dvdit le 2.3 and dvdit pe 2.5.. but i ran in to similar issues.. basically what you need to do is create a custom project size (say, 5.0gb).. it will show up as larger than the actual finished result... but let it go through.. the final result will be small enough to fit on a dvd-r...
