I extracted some video from a DVD using VirtualDubMod.
The sound seems to be out of syn by a second or two.
How do I fix this?
How do I determine how much the sound is out of synch?
Thanks.

In virtualdubmod go to streams>stream list and right click on the audio/video stream to correct and select interleaving then under audio skew correction you can set the timing of the audio in milliseconds, say +1000 ms if your audio is a second behind the video or -1000ms if it's a second in front of the video(1000 ms is one second). There is a guide for another way to remedy audio video sync below:

VOB files often have the audio skewed by a bit. VirtualDub doesn't seem to handle this automatically. You can adjust the skew by selecting Streams -> Stream List. Right click on the audio stream and select Interleaving... In the middle of the dialog is the Audio Skew value in milliseconds. I've always just gone by ear to determine the correct skew.
