Hi!
I couldn't find any answers to this situation on the forum .. particularly since I don't really understand all the differences in protocols, even though I've read them
I'd like to produce training materials for my business. This would need DVD for visuals at the workplace or home with a DVD Player linked to the TV and also for using with the PC, and CD for listening in the car.
Ideally, I'd like all of this to be on one disk, and playable by the majority of players in the Canadian (usually = American) market.
Is this possible? If so, how? If not, what are the alternatives? And what recording equipment would I need?
Thanks.

The only hope for you is the DualDisc. It's a standard RedBook CD on one side, and a standard DVD on the other side
one side is a CD one side is a DVD
there are still some combatibility issues with SLOT drives as the medium is infinitesimely thicker than a conventional DVD, therefore it cannot bear the official Compact Disc logo

Why bother with DVD? Surely this would be a lot easier to do if a VCD/SVCD video disc were used. Is it not possible to make a multisession disc like this? I don't know enough about it to say, but I see music CDs with data tracks on them too.

Cobra is on the Right Track!!! if you just need basic navigation(FF,RR, Stop) you could burn the SVCD/VCD Mpeg file and the CD files in Raw mode(iso). It would be playable in most DVD Players, and open in Media player on PCs. For "in Car" play you would have to advise the user to manual skip the first track. another option is VCD with CDDA Audio. I make these alot. here is the guide

Thanks guys.
We need to be able to select particular tracks for specific topics, in both video and audio. Would you classify track selection as basic navigation? -
Krot,
If you do an Mpeg with the audio tracks raw, when played on a DVD Player and WMP,the ouput will be something like this:
1. Krots Training.mpg
2. Krots Secret Mehtod .mp3/wav
etc.
The background would be similiar to playing an Audio CD in a DVD Player. If you need to jump to specific scenes or audio tracks via menus, then you need to author a SVCD/VCD. I recommencd VCDeasy. You will also need to author your CD Tracks to mpegs. then follow th prevous link I gave you to author a VCD with CDDA Audio Tracks.
Dont know how fast you need it, but I maybe in Misssissauga at the end of the month. If That is the case perhaps We could meet and I could hep you.
