Everyone usually talks about dvd r media's and currently I'm using tayo yuden dvd-r 4x and 8x and have no problems with them at all. I need a good cd-r media that would cover a wide range of freqencies since i'll be recording sound waves that cover a wide aspect of ranges, is the tayo yuden just as good as their dvd media? I heard of another company that is quite costly but is suppose to make the best cd-r media, any suggestions? or should i stick with tayo yuden? Thanks On a side note beside the recording time the ty 4x and 8x dvd-r media is there a difference in quality? I've used both and do not notice any difference and the 4x is much cheaper, would a higher recording rate be considered better quality in theory? I still burn at 4x with the 8x ty i use.

TY is good CD media as well. With CD media it's far easier to get a good burn with even most cheap CD-Rs compared to DVD media.
About needing to cover a wide range of frequencies, that's really irrelevant to the media you're using. CD is a digital format, if you copy it to disc you copy it to disc. As long as the burn goes fine and the disc is readable, it doesn't make a difference if you're using great media or crap media, the data's just the same either way.
