  1. Ok the other thread solved my time restrictions and now I hope to see if this problem that has plagued me a while can be fixed. ATI TV Wonder VE with the http://btwincap.sourceforge.net./ driver installed and running, XP SP2,AMD 2500 XP oc'ed a bit,Saphhire 9600 XT, 512mb pc4000 ram, 160gb seagate sata drive for capturing. So I have been having this problem where these askewd lines appear on all my captures. First I just thought it was the VHS source but I got way way to many of these even on TV captures. I tried 3 different sources and all three had the same issues which boggled me.Here is 3 examples of the problems(they are usually a line different from the rest or sometimes a few see the black and white shot and the second orgy pic.
    Official Promo VHS duplicated field 2 making it 50% better the video was near unwatchable because you would get distracted by all the lines!

    RCA output of my Comcast digital cable box(On Demand)

    Clerks First Release DVD

    Clerks DVD captures taken via PowerDVD

    Sorry about the overkill of caps. Anyway is this an issue with the card or driver perhaps? I have used another rca cable with the same results. This is driving me nuts and I have no idea where/how these come from. I would love to buy that new Theater Chip card but have no money for that atm unless is 100% that would rid me of these errors.

    -Thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks for anything

  2. Appears to be an interlacing vs progressive problem.

    Have you read thru this ? http://www.100fps.com

  3. Yeah thanks I've read through that a while ago and understood interlacing never thought it was the problem here, how can dvds have these lines? I looked through the fields on the dvd and found nothing. When I extracted the vob with DVD Decrypter I couldn't see any signs of the two fields I mean any of the regular "combing" I see with any capture.And I still don't know why these lines shows up.

    PS2 Playback(more different lines):

    better panasonic progressive scan(combing):

    I just want to know why I can't view the combing in the vobs and why these "lines" appear I can get rid of some of them through various de interlacing means(duplicating 1 field) but I'd rather not have to do that and it still leaves me with plenty.

    thanks

  4. Since you said it's from all 3 sources - kinda points towards the TV Wonder don't you think?

    Maybe a driver or software problem (or the combination of driver and used software).

    Have you tried capturing with WDM-drivers and Virtual VCR? Have you tried the drivers from the manufacturer (ATI)?
