Greetings,
(I can't believe putting a title like that would not be a bad thing...hehe)
I know there are threads about DVD protected, etc. But I have a specific problems trying to back up this disc and I would like to know if there is something I am missing.
1 - I ripped the DVD with the latest version of DVD Decrypter into a directory.
2 - I use the latest version of Nero Recode, use the source ripped by the latest version of DVD Decrypter, send the outpout to a directory, use the latest version of IMGTools and burn with the latest version of DVD Decrypter.
3 - I use the latest version of VOB Blanker, use the source by the DVD Decrypter outpout (Step 1), send the outpout in a directory and do the step 2.
4 - I tried to recode with CloneDVD (Latest version) and burn with DVD Decrypter.
Each time, when I put the resulting DVD into my player, it gets stuck on the first screen (The copywrit one) and when I try to eject, fast forword, etc, nothing is happening. I need to unplug the player and power it on with the eject button to get the DVD out of the tray. It does that with my Samsung and my two panasonics players.
To make the DVD play, I need to rip skipping the menus. But with this one, when I do that, Nero says there are 2 tracks (exactly the same size) and even if I do the step 2 with no menu, it is unplayable. Any idea?
Thank you

I suggest: Rip and shrink with DVDShrink (either full DVD or just main title in reauthor mode) to ISO.
Burn ISO with DVDDecrypter.
It can't be a copy protection issue. Could be media related too. Shrink down to ~4.2 GB to keep out of the outer edge of the disc.

I has some problems but i ran anydvd while using dvd shrink and it burned it with copytodvd and it burned flawlessly.

This dvd has 'extras' in it. You know you can play the longer version of it & a symbol appears on the screen to let you know that its playing those extra parts. That makes it extra tricky.

Greetings,
Thank you for your answers, but it still does not solve the startup problem. The DVD still freeze at the copywrit screen. I tried a few other options yesterday and it still does not work.
I had the same issue with The Grudge, but removing the menus and use VOB Blanker worked fine.
Thank you -
Once I had the same problem with The Santa ClausE or Daddy Day Care (can't remember exactly).
The DVD kept getting stuck to a screen saying the region code of the disc was not cmpatible with the player, regardless that my player plays everything!?!
Anyway, the only workaround was to reauthor with TDA, thus removing all menus + extras.
Before that, I had tried everything, including VobBlanker, w/no success! -
Well, your copy of this disk must have a problem with it as I just ran mine through straight DVD Shrink ( the last one 3.2.0.15 ) with AnyDVD running in the BG for good measure and it was ripped perfectly. I did a movie only rip on one disk and did all the extras in the second disk. No problems with either process.
The extras run consecutively one after the other, no menus and you can hit next to go directly to the next one.
Try another copy and I'll bet you it will work, and give AnyDVD a try. Has to be the latest. I never really bothered to check for ARCCOS protection anymore if I run ANYdvd just before ripping. I do disable it off after burning the disk.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
