  1. I"m trying to capture at 640x480 30fps video (DivX 4.12 codec) with 64k- 44khzstereo wma audio.

video and audio compress is done in realtime. as far as I know FREEVCR is the only program that allow me to capture compressed divx video with compress audio in realtime.

other program AVI_IO and Vdub. make me cap audio in PCM.

I just got my Athlon XP 1800+ 512m ddram, Radeon7500 and WinTV.
Did a test run and cap SOLDIER (kirk russle) DVD. did a 80min test.

I get about 0.40% framedrop. (total of 42 frames dropped over 80min)

not that the dropped frames bother me but it caues the video to be off sync. so for every 30 frame dropped I get 1 second offsync with the audio.

I DID check the box that is marked "sync/video/audio"

anyone familiar with FREEVCR know how to get my a/v in sync? or know of anyother program that I might be able to use for my purpose?

thanks in advance for your help.

btw: strange, cause even when I use a lower resolution 352x240 I still get small amount of framedrop (mostly around the same scenes in the film) even though my cpu usage is listed sa in the 10% area

  2. thats weird that 40 frames is causing it to be out of sync over 1 full second!?!?!

I used to drop around 150-180 frames per 100 min on this one cheap tv tuner card yet it would never cuase the clip to go out of sync.

The reason is because it would not drop multiple frames all in one spot.
If that is happening to you, it definitely sounds like something is bogging down your pc and needs to be turned off.
