Need a media code guru... (ESA vs. Nexxtech)

I was hoping for a media code guru to come through and give me some advice/knowledge in comparing these two medias. I have already bought tons of ESAa (-r)... no I'm not a bootlegger... I own my own music studio, and as of late when artists come through I have someone record (video) their prep, hangin out, recording, and mix downs, etc... then I menu/chapter it up edit and then also sell them the master DVD (+extra) for duplicates... So, I'm making money through studio time and while hobbying...
Anyways, I did a check at the media codes here at the sites, but rarely do those codes match identical with each media I buy with the same manufacturer. Like Maxell and BenQ, ultimately can have the same 'actual' manufacturer of the disc each company sells... not saying that these two are, but I know that many companies share the same 'actual' manufacturer!

Well, here are my media codes for the ESAs and Nexxtechs... my questions are:
1. By looking at these media codes, is there a way to tell which would/should be more reliable (reading, seek, accepted by number of players)?
2. Are these made by the same 'actual' manufacturer? Because it looks to me that they are..
3. Also, by looking at these codes... they are identical! Which leads me to believe they are... ummmm identical, so is it just a matter of them selling them under a diff. brand name?
4. I never burn over 4x because I want to limit write errors... so by these codes being the same, should I rest assured that they'll (Nexxtechs) burn in my towers like the ESAs that I've been using succesfully?

The two media are the same. They are made by CMC Magnetics. I haven't used this media on my Pioneer 107D. But yesterday I burned some CMC MAG.AF1 on the 107D. They are rated at 4X and I burnt them using the hacked firmware at 6X. Tested them on BenQ1620 and the results were very good. I read a user's comments on the media section of this forum that he did not get good results with the CMC MAG.AE1 on the 107D at 8X but he got very good results at 6X.

Well, I master at only 2x. And then dupe at 4x (reliability). For the price these are the standard for me!
WHAAT????? DVD single layer price may just be falling like cd prices! Hey, I just remembered paying $290.00 for a (at the time) blazing fast 16x Yamaha CD burner a few years ago!

Yes, these are the same. I've burned about 100 of these discs with zero coasters so far on both my NEC burners, my Benq 822 burner, and my Pioneer 420 recorder, all at 8x. The Pioneer 420 recorder is supposed to have a modified version of the 107 in it, as I said they burn fine in it (I've burned about 50 in it).

BTW, burning at slower than a media's rated speed doesn't always improve your results. In fact it can often worsen your results vs. burning at a media's rated speed where most drives' firmwares and the media itself is optomized to be burned at.

I've heard this before... but, I've been 'mastering' for a good while... and slower speed has always proven to be better than a faster speed... insurance of read/write % is higher.

CMC vs CMC = crap vs crap

Never assume the same code will act the same, not with CMC and a couple of the other lowest-grade medias. These are from different batches, and low grade media is very spotty from batch to batch. Horrible QC is to blame, along with shoddy materials and workmanship.

Dollars over product, and to them YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT AT ALL.

Nice attempt at bashing CMC again, but he's already said they work well for him, on one of your beloved Pioneer burners no less.

not just pioneer... but liteon 812s and TDKn40 I believe it is...
CMC is well worth the money...pennies.
Also, I've gone through maybe 2000 ESA (CMCs) and they were better than Ritek, Verbatim, TDK, Maxell, Memorex!
The only big brand name that, FOR ME, is really worth the mid-range dollar is Phillips.
