  1. I have an old Sony Vaio that runs on Windows 98. It has a program called DVgate which I use to upload and download my digital camera video movies. Lately, when I launch DVgate, a message appears that says "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down."
    On the details it posts this;

    DVMOTION2 caused an invalid page fault in
    module DVMONITR.DLL at 016f:040f1daa.

    Does anyone know what this means and/or how to correct the problem?

  2. There is no real way to know. A page fault is when the program tries to access an area of memory that does not exist. Try re-installing the program. Its about all you can do.
