What is the difference? As far as DVD compliance is concern.
In my PC, MPEG-DVD has no sound when played in Windows Media Player.

You see, when using Ulead VS 7, there are these options to capture or render into MPEG-DVD or MPEG2. I am thinking that one is more compliant than the other. Thanks.Originally Posted by Baldrick

They are just templates, you can adjust either. For it to be DVD compliant it has to fall within the DVD spec which an be found to the left under "What Is" DVD.
They are both MPEG2, the difference is if you pick MPEG2 you can adjust the settings outside of the spec such as odd resolutions.
This of course has nothing to do with you not being able to hear the sound.... What is your source for the video? Mini DVD? -
It's a Sony Digital 8 used as pass-through (firewire). I capture TV program with WinDV then convert with TMPGenc. There is sound if played in Windows Explorer (thumbnail) and with PowerDVD. Perhaps it is the Windows Media Player problem. I do not know what codec my Windows Player 9 needs. I will install version 10 and see what happens. ThanksOriginally Posted by thecoalman
