hello.. first time here for the pass 2 years....
i have a question, how actually do i burn a DVD with nero express vision 2?
ok... first i transfer my camcorder videos to pc, then i encode them in adobe premiere pro into MPEG-2 DVD (PAL) files.. and then when i want to burn them to DVD with nero, there is always the TRANSCODING???? what is the purpose is transcoding?? so therefore to burn a DVD takes me a long time!! I DONT WANT TO TRANSCODE MY VIDEO AND CHANGING THE QUALITY OF MY VIDEO!
and is there a way to burn DVD without menu? nero force me to make a menu even i have a short one file video.

Tmpgenc dvd author...or click on tools here to the left and check under DVD Author.
You should NOT need to do any transcoding or encoding when you author a mpeg2 dvd pal. -
ReJig will give you an autoplay dvd, no menus, no transcoding.

its still the same with tmpgenc dvd author! when i click "Begin Output" ... it takes 20 minutes to do "something" i dont know what is that for... ... i tought burning dvd is like burning vcd, where u just add the movie file and burn....

Well, you're wrong. The mpg has to be remuxed as VOBs, and that takes some time. There's no reencoding (TDA doesn't even have an encoder built in.)

everything has to be compliant...thats all the programs are basically doing..20 min is really not all that bad. infact be happy it's not like back in the days when u had to let the computer do it's work overnight while u went to bed.....

is it? so the 20 minutes of transcoding is normal? because i dont want any modification to the quality of my videos. why not those dvd encoder directly encode to a vob file instead of mpg?

Beacuse VOBs can contain so much more than a mpg. I really can't understand what's bothering you. TDA just takes the source material you provide (video and audio), checks it for compliance and wraps it up in a VOB. There's no encoding. There's no transcoding. There's just packaging according to DVD specifications.Originally Posted by houseng

Use two harddrives if you have that, set the output folder to a different one than the input. It should speeed up it a bit.
Some tools can convert directly to vob like vso divxtodvd.....but you can't use it with premiere though. -
It's not actually transcoding anything. Nothing is being modified (quality wise). The authoring program is creating .vob files and .ifo structures based on the settings you specified. That is the only change. Nothing is transcoded or encoded at all.Originally Posted by houseng

check this out.... why does nero vision express wants me to set quality settings and etc?[/img] -
We're not talking about NVE - we're talking about TDA. Why do you bring NVE into the picture? (which btw doesn't show, but is shown if I paste the link in my browser...)

What NVE does or don't, only Ahead knows. Don't use it if you're concerned with quality, control and such.Originally Posted by houseng
