  1. I finally broke down and bought the Epson R200 today. I have not printed a DVD yet, but I did print some photos. I have a 2.1 MP camera, and these photos were taken on the highest setting. I did not retouch them at all.

My previous printer was an Epson C62, which did a good job oh pictures, but this printer ROCKS. Excellent prints, and from a low MP camera. I can only imaging large prints from it with a higher MP camera.

Anyway, just thought I would share. Making a backup of Shark Tale right now, so I hope to print a DVD soon!!!!

  2. psigma,
I have to agree with you that the R200 prints excellent pictures. I just bought the printer for the sole purpose of printing on DVDs/CDs because I already had a Canon printer that did my photos great (I thought). However, there is no comparison between the Canon and the Epson R200--the R200 is superior. That was the good news. The bad news is that the ink is more expensive and the printer uses a lot of it.

My solution is that if I need a few quick photos, I will use the Epson R200, but if I'm doing a large print (dozens or more), I'll take my memory card to the local WalMart and print them out on one of the self-help machines. They are much cheaper that way (when you consider the cost of photo paper and ink).

  4. Has anyone tried generic ink for this printer?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=51315&item=6742272623&rd=1

This seller claims that the ink is the same durabright pigment as used by Epson.

I bought a set to try for 20 bucks. I don't print too many photos, but I might now with this great printer. I may look into the CIS system later.
