  1. I can't get any audio with my AVI file. It doesn't play in Windows Media Player at all, but it does play in DiXV, still no audio. Problem is, I want to convert it with TMPEG which again, recognizes the video, but not the audio.

According to this report I ran... the vidoe codec isn't installed but audio is... I'm confused?

    [b]Name: C:\Program Files\Downloads\movie.avi
Movie Size: 696.03 MB or 712,731 kB
Movie Length: 118 mins, 32 secs.

    Video Codec FourCC: xvid
    Video Codec: XviD MPEG-4
    Codec or Variant Installed?: NO!
    Video Width x Height: 640 x 352
    Video FPS/Bitrate: 23.976 / 675 kbit/s

    Audio Codec: MPEG Layer 3
    Audio Bitrate: 128 Kbit/s
    Audio Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Audio Samples: 48,000 Hz

Check the avi with Gspot and make sure the codecs are installed.

  3. I downloaded a whole bunch of codecs and it works. I even installed Gspot and it states that everything is there that needs to be.

When I play it in Windows Media Player it play fines. BUT when I open up TMPEGENC, it opens up the wizard and when I click on "source range" it detects no video or image. When I open up the file from the main screen, I get an error of "Can't load P3Package.dll".

Man, I'm loading with problems tonight.

  5. TMPGEnc cannot read MP3 audio. You have to first extract the audio from your avi file using VirtualDub and convert it to a wav file. Then mux the video & audio by taking the video source as the original avi file and audio source as the converted wav file. Select the correct template like VCD/SVCD/DCD and encode to a new mpeg file.
