Other capture software

Does anybody know what other capturing software will work with the Adaptec's DVD Video Oh USB Media Center Edition (avc2310).
This product came with Sonic's DVD (v 5.0), Arcsoft's Showbiz (v1.2) and intervideo (v3.0) and I would like to try different sofware ,if possible. I'm hoping for better results.

What do you mean by "better results?"

Since the MPEG2 encoding is done by the hardware, changing the capture software isn't going to do anything for you when it comes to quality. It will just change how you interact with the device.

I use the older VideOh PCI card. I kept the capture program but changed everything else over the last year; the Sonic stuff was just too limiting.

Now I use VideoReDo for quick edits, EditStudio as my NLE, and DVDLab for DVD creation and burning. I am much happier.

What I really mean is I really don't care for Sonic's software ( my preference)and I thought there may be another program, which that is compatable with my capture device (Adaptec's DVD Video Oh USB Media Center Edition (avc2310) that I could capture with.
Does anyone use any type of capture software other than sonic with this device. I tried Roxio's Easy Creator 7 Capture (part of the suite), but it doesn't work. No sound. I don't think it compatable

Maybe ADS Tech's Capwiz software would work, but even if it did I think it's like comparing apples to apples. Good luck!!

P.S. Cap AVI and encode - you'll never look back quality wise!
