  1. Ok I recorded the super bowl using sage tv and dvd standard compession.

what I got was a 16GIG mpg :-) now sure how thats possible but its there.

I need to make this into VOB's with thr associated proper bup ifo etc.. files so I can load it up into SHRINK and make it fit onto a DVD ?

How do I do this ? I figured ok use tmpgenc but it makes another mpg so I scrubbed that. I need to basically MAKE this into a dvd on the hard drive since it clearly wont fit on a dvd :-) and I can not figure out how to do that either (the pre game and tail gate shows are under 4gig but same problem)

this way I can put it through shrink and go from there.

    Suggestions ?

these are standard dvd mpg2 files so I should not have to "convert" the actual video or audio just convert the file structions or whatever to VOB's ?

  2. You need a DVD authoring program, have a look in the tools section and then in the dvd authoring guides section.

You may also find that it is too big to shrink in a single pass. How long is the runtime ? It might be worth splitting it into two disks.

  4. its only 4 hours long and I can fit almost 7.5 hours onto a dvd so I know it can fit. it was definately the wrong format to use as it was much bigger than the resolution of the tv signal recorded I thought dvd standard was 4.7 gig 2 hours so 9gig it made a 16gig file thankfully dvd author can access since I can move it around on the same drive I can NOT move it off drive to another drive

I thought I could not make files this big but now I see I made my recordings folder NTFS (good thing

Once I cut it down it will be just over 3 hours its just easiest to "cut it down" with dvd shrink and it can shrink it at the same time

I got tmpgenc dvd author it appears to be doing what I want (its chewing on the files now
