I'm sort of an old fart I guess. My three favorite Christmas Movies are:
1)White Christmas - Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye
2)Holiday Inn - Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire
4)It's A Wonderful Life - You know this one.

Manos Hands of Fate comes to mind
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
The Lion in Winter is by far the greatest christmas film ever made. Those royals are the ultimate in dysfunctional family get togethers.
I'm pretty certain Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 were set at christmas time, as the Die Hards are. -
I saw this at the theater when it came out. I still tear up, sniff, sniff.Originally Posted by yoda313

Manos or Martians?????

I also saw it ("SC Conquers the Martians") in the movies when it came out (guess I'm dating myself). As a kid I actually liked it enough to go back and see it again. I loved that Martian space food.

That's what makes it so great, hehehehe. One day a couple of months ago, I was browsing through The Dollar Tree store. If you don't have one in your area, it's a store where everything really costs only one dollar. Anyhoo, they had a bunch of DVDs for sale in cardboard sleeves ... released by a company simply calling itself "Movie Classics." Their address is a PostalAnnex box number in Solana Beach, CA. And, when I saw that film (and since it was only a buck), I said why the hell not. I got it home, slapped it in my DVD player, started it ... and it froze right after the title screen. I took it out and inserted it again a number of times, but it kept freezing in the same place. Finally, I just ripped it with DVDdecrypter and burned myself a copy on a Memorex 4x (aka RitekG05) ... and it plays just fine. The content may be crap, but at least the media is fine, hehehe.Originally Posted by dwill123
But guess what. I wasted that dollar ... because the film is available for free download in MPEG2 format from the Moving Picture Archives site:
http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=feature_films&collectionid=san...s_the_martians
And, I also noticed a few other films on the archive site that this company is selling at Dollar Tree stores. This kinda ticked me off because, before the title screen, there's an FBI warning. And in theory, the Moving Picture Archives only gives access to films that have lost (or never had) copyright protection. Oh well, only a buck. -
Christmas Vacation by far!! I can't wait till the Star Trek Christmas movie.
