Messenger Problem

I used 6.2 (I think that's the lastest version) Anyway, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my problem but yesterday I installed Firefox, for my girl to use (Safer that way) and then today, when I turn on my PC, Messenger 4.1 pops up (Or 4.2) AND in my Outlook all the names that are on my contact list show the little messenger buddy sign beside their name. I don't know why this happen. SO...I try and remove it but can't...why?? Also, after I turned it off, my Outlook got all funky...it would open to a smaller window, not full screen, and the letters (In the email) are big and bold...HELP

Uninstall both messengers then reinstall 6.2
