Just want to find out how much of your sanity is involved with DVD, Video, Formats, etc.

I honestly have formed in my head a picture of BJ-M with shakes and stuttering the words Divx and VCD constantly. Or something like RainMan - "Definitely, Definitely M2v or Mpeg-2. Definitely."

    Hello,

Well I had to vote for "I do it for Star Trek and Star Wars (the yoda313 jedi knights)" You have to vote for yourself

But actually I'm pretty moderate to heavy into it.

I love my single layer dvd burner and my hauppauge wintv pvr250 cap card

  8. I know what I'm doing at this point and learning more as upgrades and new tools come along.

Have invested a lot of time and money and it will take me years to get everything I want done.

I'm Knowledgeable because of Lordsmurf and Balrick...but I wouldn't say there's nothing I don't know...there's always something more to learn and different routs to take (that's why I chose Rookie as my nick...I'll never consider myself an expert no matter how much I learn)

So...don't really know what to vote on.

I have spent enough time, effort, money and brain cells doing this to truly loathe the rack of DVD recorders at the local electronics department with the ever-dropping price tags that all my friends and family that have been enjoying so many of the DVDs I've made over the years are now buying and going - "I just don't understand what the big deal is, really. You just put the disc in and hit record. It's really quite simple."

But I didn't see that option, so I just went with the TGPO option.

I have decent fundamental knowledge, enough to do what I want, but there's a ton of stuff I don't know.

I can imagine Shocker at the same Video therapy session as BJ_M. My wife thinks I spend waaaaay too much money on it, but it's a hobby I enjoy and she likes the fact that it keeps me occupied. I think I have too many hobbies though. I'm thinking of selling my model train collection. I've gotten rid of most of it to buy video equipment, but now I need a new HDD and I want to build another new tower. A PC alone will be about $1200.
