I'm encoding a sporting event i captured (1280x720) with great quality, the only issues i have is that when I try to fast forward to different points in the video it get pixelated for 1 -2 second and gradually goes back to normal quality.

I tried to download similar videos and they don't have that issue.

I'm using megui to encode, what's causing this and how do i fix it?

Too low bitrate? What bitrate settings are you using?

  4. What happens when you try another media player, like MPCHC or KMPlayer. VLC sometimes has this problem with AVC streams

it doesn't have that issue on those players, just vlc. but i'm wondering how others who made avc streams not have that issue on their videos. is there a setting on megui and will help with that?

Nope, it's vlc's fault . It's been very buggy the last few years, it's not recommended software anymore. These are known issues with AVC playback which haven't been fixed
