Authoring wiv TDA

Hi, ive been using TMPGEnc DVD Author for a while now with good results, i have no problem with the software itself but, i use WINAVI to convert my AVI files to VOBS, then put them into TDA, usally 2 films at a time, and it then takes about 30 - 40mins for TDA to author the films,
I would presume the time length to be so if i inserted them as mpegs and the Authoring software had to convert them to vobs, but as they are alreay vobs why does this process take so long..

Have you done any large fancy menus????

Also if you're doing MOTION MENUS that will add CONSIDERABLE time to your processing.

Hi, nope, no extra ordinary menu's , just plain n simple - no chapters just a jpg background.

Its not as tho my PC is slow

AMD 2500+ CPU
512 MB Ram
120 GB hard drive
GeForce MX5200 Graphics Card

I haven't actually tried the procedure you're describing, but I think if you just add VOB files to TDA, TDA has to convert them back to MPEG-2 before you can reauthor. So the authoring time will be at least as long as if you added MPEG files, and may even be longer since TDA has to convert the VOBs to MPEGs first.
