Hi all
I´m going to make a SVCD from a live show, so I 'd like to create a basic menu with the song's name which allows me going directly to the song.
It is just a text menu, without pictures.
But I don't know how to do that in VCDEasy.
Could anyone give me a hint?
Thnx in adv

Yes, create a menu image with just text in it.

Use a photo app--even MSPaint will do.
Create a blank document 640x480 (for NTSC)
Draw what you like--use the Text tools to type the words/titles you want.
save as a BMP(s).
Use the MPEG Still tool in VCDEasy to convert to MPEG still(s).
Use those MPEG stills in the main section of VCDEasy to use them as menus.
Done.

But my question is: what's the size for a blank document (.bmp) for make a "text menu" for a PAL system?!
Maybe "704 X 576"?!?!
Thank You Very Much!!!

Its either 704 or 720 by 576
However, VCDEasy will resize anyway so don't be too worried about the resoution.
I use powerpoint to generate a series of JPEG's but pretty much any graphics tool will do the trick.

mikesbytes is right, but
actually, I wrote 640x480 because VCDEasy suggests that as the best framesize to start with and I thought it might be a good place for a newbie to start. Personally, I go by the following guidelines:
For VCD or SVCD stills always start with a framesize of
768 (Horizontal) x 576 (Vertical) This is a 4:3 canvas for Square PAR.
Resize to 720 x 576 for PAL, 720 x 480 for NTSC.
Crop 8 pixels off of each side to arrive at
704 x 576 (PAL), 704 x 480 (NTSC). This will still be quite sharp (having been resized DOWNWARD), and also still having a 4:3 canvas when shown on Non-square PAR displays like TV.
I use different resize algorithms depending on the material and my needs (Bilinear, Bicubic, Lanczos).
All these should be 24bit color and PLEASE DON'T save as JPEG or some other lossy compressed filetype. They're gonna have to be re-compressed again to MPEG still, so there's no point in compounding the noticeability of artifacts.
