dmca copyright question

I am trying to find out if it is illegal under DMCA to buy legal VCD movies at tower records in hte Philippines and resell in the USA. If the movies are legal copies is it illegal to resell? I sometimes see a copyright warning about unauthorised distrubution. Would this be the case or would it be like a book where it is legaly printed in say europe and you import and resell in the usa?

Most of my VCDs I got from overseas say "only for sale in ______ (the country I got it from)".

Didn't stop me from buying or seller from selling, but it's usually bought from eBay or outright overseas stores (via web sites).

true but i am thinking about buying a pallet of 5000 and re selling at the flea market as the orig ones i can get for about 3 dollars in asia at tower records.

You may run into some legal issues with that regardless of the DMCA. I believe there's a legal difference between selling individual items and basically distributing or reselling bulk items. Kind of like the difference between possession and possession with intent to sell. But don't quote me, I'm not an attorney. Adam would probably be the one with the info on this one.
