  1. Hello all

I am hoping that someone could offer advice on copying a particular DVD.

The DVD in question is an original but rare music DVD and is now virtually impossible to get. I would like to like a backup.

There appears to be no protection on the DVD. It is single sided and totals around 4gb. Regardless of what method I use the resulting backup does not entirely play. The initial menu comes up but when I try and click on a particular chapter it either freezes entirely or the PC itself freezes. There are around 70 chapters on the DVD.

Methods I have tried are DVD to DVD (Nero and standalone 1 to 1 copier), DVD to hard drive and back to DVD (using Decrypter and DVD Shrink) and more! No error message are ever recieved during any method but, as I said, any resulting DVD does not work.

Can anyone please offer any advice?

Does the original play correctly? Do a kprobe scan and see if the disk has errors. I assume you are not using a RW.
