erase a DVD RW ??

is there any way to successfully erase a DVD RW?? nothing seems to work, everything i try only seems to erase a little bit of it, but leaves the rest,, what program can i get that will actually erase the disc so i can use it again?

Format it, that will erase everything. DVDInfoPro will do it, Nero will too.

Nero doesn't work for me, it starts to erase but then chokes

I wonder if it's a dvd-rw disc because I have had 10 dvd-rw disc's that has been almost impossible to erase.
