    I am new to all of this. I have converted the avi file to an mpeg file but I do not know how to burn it to a VCD.

    I downloaded an AVI file from the internet. I then converted it into MPG with TMPGEnc. After hours of conversion, it produced an MPG file which I was not able to copy into the CD. The CD Creator said it was not an standard VCD.

    Any ideas?

    The answer is already there... you haven't created an MPEG file fitting the VCD specs.
