It's Official: I'm still stupid

I was wondering if there is a thread pertaining to how to use this site and if so would you be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I have lurked here for a couple of years before ever making my first post and still don't know how to use all of the features. I kind of suck at searching because I get distracted too easy or don't always know the best wording, but thats my problem. What I am getting at is there should be a users guide for this forum. I often know of a previous post that could be linked to a new thread that could shed light on the subject, but I haven't figured out how to insert the address of one thread into another. I know that part of the problem is me and my lack of any computer training and I have seen other forums with almost exactly the same layout so maybe a general "how to use a fourm " guide or link could be a good thing. I can find answers to just about anything that I need for video for myself just from the how to's. I would however like to be able to link someone to previous threads to show them the step by step or post by post evolution of a topic. With all the possible PCs and programs and their unlimited setups it is good to see a chain of thoughts leading to a solution. I have found that this open thought process often is what leads me to a solution rather than a simple "do this" answer. Anyways thanks, keep the site running and I will keep making stupid post

Every web page has a url, that line of text up at the top of your browswer...like http://www.videohelp.com

If you want to link to a particular thread then simply browse to that thread and copy and paste the url into your post.

If you want to do html links like this then just use the buttons that are available above the reply box and follow the instructions that it gives. The various bbCode tag options are also described in the FAQ section.

I can do the copy and paste thing but I keep screwing up on the reply box bottons. I will try it out in the test pages. Its is the simple things that get me. Left foot, right foot, chew, left foot, right foot......

I don't know why I didn't try some of these tactics before. I am pretty sure that I have inserted links to outside websites here before. I just didn't think that it would work that easy with threads or individual post. I have had some trouble trying to upload JPEGS before ( I think that was a file conversion prob on my end) and I think that may have scared me away from trying sooner.

BTW the search function for this board sucks, at least IMO use Google to search for stuff here. You can type this into google.... site:www.videohelp.com canopus, give you results for canopus.
