I have encoded my DVD with DVD Santa and I have my VOBs, which, when played in my VOB player, look perfect, and they are 16x9 (widescreen)

But... the DVD that I get when I burn with DVD Santa is full screen (no squeezing, just the sides are cut off)

Is there any way to burn this so it remains letterboxed, without re-encoding with another program (ie - using TMPGEnc with the "keep aspect ratio 2" option)

    thanks!

Doesn't dvd santa keep the 16:9 when you author? then CHANGE tool. Tmpgenc dvd author keeps it 16:9 if you author.

Or do you want dvdsanta to add black borders? if you can't do that in dvd santa then CHANGE tool. All-in-one tools may be good for easy conversions but not if you want to controll all setttings.

You've probably already thought of this, but I'll mention it anyway : What are the settings on your DVD player? Do you have your DVD player set to crop the sides if the movie is widescreen? Probably not, if you've watched other anamorphic widescreen DVDs and had them play correctly. Just thought I'd mention it
How does it look when you play that burnt DVD on your computer? Is it still widescreen? Otherwise, isn't one of the settings in the .ifo file (that tells the player that it is a 16x9 or 4:3) to tell the DVD player how to play the DVD? i.e. letterbox, or pan&scan (crop the sides).... I could be wrong about this, but can't that override what you have your DVD player set to do when playing the file? If you have your DVD player set a 4:3 TV, and you have a anamorphic widescreen DVD, and you've told your DVD player to letterbox it, but the .ifo file is telling the DVD player to crop it, won't the DVD play cropped? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm right though, you might want to check the setting in the .ifo file with IfoEdit....
