  1. Hey-
Ive used tmpenc for the longest time and never had any problems with it. Now im on a new computer that I built, and I run tmpenc, and is fine. But 29 or so minutes into the encoding it freezes. Why does this happen? Please help. Thanks. -JASON

  3. This is my first time trying to encode using tmpgenc on my new computer. what happend was I was using eazyvcd. It ripped, then created the .d2v and wav files, and once it gets into tmpgenc to encode it freezes, or restarts my computer, etc. Then I tried just to load the .d2v and .wav files into tmpgenc manually and start encoding. I watched it for a little as it encoded, and I walked away, I came back and noticed it froze 29 minutes or so into the encoding process. I dont know what to do. Ill try to re-install. Any other ideas why this may be happening? Do you think the ram has somethin to do with it? Please email me. Thanks. -Jason

  4. TMPGEnc frozen on my overclocked Athlon XP system and was unable to complete encoding an hour of video several times. Problem solved when I relaxed the overclocking range from 2000+ to 1900+ for a 1800+ CPU. Hope this helps.

TMPEnc is the most CPU taxing app I have encountered so far. Overclocking to 2000+ plays fine with the Warcraft III after adjusting the Vcpu to higher level. But TMPEnc will freeze on it.

Overclocking or poor cooling, either one can cause your problem.

  6. Hey-
How do I change my overclocking range? And what exactly does overclocking mean? And about poorly cooled system, I have 2 rear fans, 1 fan over the cpu, and 1 side panel fan. So i think its cooled good enough. It is very loud though, I wish I could fix that somehow. But basically my system runs about at 20-30 degrees C. Please help fix this problem, thanks. -JASON

  7. If you are running what your profile is showing Intel P4 2.4GHz, it is very unlikely that you are overclocking your system. This only applies to those who are experienced in overclocking and know what they are doing.

If overclocking was not your problem, what's the full config of your system then. Did you assemble the system yourself? What's the make of your motherboard?

  8. I essembled the computer myself, and I have an ECS P4VXASD2+ motherboard. I have no overclocked my system at all. -JASON

  9. Your problem sounds like heat related. I had the same problem. Half and hour and then freezes. You might want to try to open up the casing and try to ventilate your system with a fan or wait until it's cold at night to run the conversion.

Did you put the thermal paste on when you mount the HSF on to your CPU? Just asking although this is very unlikely for a fan that comes with the P4.

Can you monitor the CPU temp during the conversion? Does it always freeze at the same time? Or it is pretty random?
