After capturing a TV program to AVI, I used TMPGenc to convert to VCD MPEG1 using the default settings. The result was a high pitched noise added to the audio. The audio was there for the capture and could be heard but in the background was the noise. It was not in the AVI file. I have not been able to get rid of it by trying other settings. The audio was captured through a Sound Blaster Live! with settings of 48KHz Stereo PCM. The program used for capture was iuVCR. The reason for the 48KHz was that I had synch problems with the audio and one of the fixes suggested by iuVCR was to use 48KHz when using a Sound Blaster Live! card. Anyone have suggestions on how to avoid the high pitched noise. Is there a workaround for the 48KHz issue with the Sound Blaster Live! card.
