hello
I am trying to rip a PAL film to an XSVCD.
I've ripped it through SmartRipper and the program says it is Mpeg2, PAL, 16:9 display-mode in pan-scan, 720x576, no letterboxed.

Ripping goes fine and the log txt file confirms what above.
Then I run DVD2AVI to feed TMPGenc but all the combination of settings I've tried result is a 16:9 aspect in the XSVCD.
I've been playing with ASPECT RATIO in the VIDEO Tab, and VIDEO ARRANGE METHOD in ADVANCED and EXPERT SETTING for SOURCE, but the result is always 16:9 regardless.

This means that it plays stretched pictures on TV, while the original DVD, if played on the DVD player or on the PC, keeps its original aspect ratio.
If I select the DVD player to play in 16:9 wide mode, then the picture is stretched as well, but that is not the way the film is supposed to be watched.

Does anybody know how to make the XSVCD and preserve the aspect ratio of the original DVD?
Thank you.
