Maestro Web link?

Hi All,
I have been trying to create a weblink the manual tells me to go to www.webdvd.org for more info but as we all know this no longer exists. So my question is has anyone successfuly added a welink in Maestro and if so is there some guide or something out there to help me along?

Yes I have, and No the only guide I have seen is what's in the manual.

Basically, you just 1. set your preferences to allow weblinks, 2. make the corresponding fillin box in the TARGET dialog/tab for your button a URL (which can be a web address {http://www.blah.blah.blah.com} or file {file://mydocument.txt} or other common url-compatible script.

You really should thoroughly read the manual though, if you want to get the most out of Maestro.

yes I have done all this but on compiling I get the message "button 4 has no target" it looks to me as though I have done everything correctly but obviously I haven't.

To review, Check these things:

1. In Program preferences | WebDVD tab:
"Enable URL Entry for WebDVD" should be checked

2. In Project settings | General tab:
"Embed Project Text data" should be check, with appropriate language

3. If doing "Chapter Point" link, make sure you actually have a specific chapter point for the particular link. Add link text in "Marker URL" box.

4. For menu link, In Menu dialog | Buttons tab:
Put link in "URL" textbox

5. Also try title giving Menu button "Target" of itself. Obviously don't make it an auto-activating button or you will loop forever.

6. In URL link, use "http://www.dvdrhelp.com" (or whatever's appropriate). Use the full syntax and don't leave out the http part.

7. If doing file that resides on the DVD itself, use syntax of "dvd:......". While web urls use the "/", dvd urls should use the "\".

8. Test, test, test--with an RW disc. Try a number of different players.

In review:

1.WebDVD I did enable
2.I also did the embedded project data (as per the manual)
3.Yes Itried this
4.yes I definately did this

i even tried linking the button to a chapter URL and no luck I also did the menu target back to itself. I did use the full syntax line for the URL.
I did just have a thought though, I have only been testing it after compiling and using the built in dvd player. I have noticed that this DVD player does not always eflect the finshed "burnt" product so that will be my next test.

Which "built-in" player are you talking about? The Ravisent/QI player, or the Syzygy, or something else like WinDVD/PowerDVD or WindowsMediaPlayer?

Some of those DO support Web-enabled DVD and some DON'T (obviously the syzygy does).

Maybe if you did a microDVD title (<10MB) that I could ftp to, I could check and see what's going on. I have successfully done a small number of these titles--some website, some document, so I know it can work correctly.
