  1. Hello everyone,

When I have a movie that is less than 4.7GB and will fit on one DVD-R I still run it thru DVD2one to generate the correct .IFO, .BUP files ect.

Question is if it will fit on one DVD-R why does it stll compress the video files. I notice it will still compress it some. The movies files usually come out at about 500MB less than before. Why does this do that.

  2. Don't have an answer for you however when the original DVD will fit on one DVDR I just rip it to a VIDEO_TS folder and then burn that folder using RecordNow Max. No reason to run DVD2one.

  4. I use DVD2ONE whenever I have a movie that is over 4.7gb. However, I prefer IfoEdit when the movie is less than or close to 4.7. It will strip out everything that you don't want, and it will make the .IFO and .BUP files that you need to play the DVD-R in a standalone. I have never had any problems with it, and because it can't reencode, you know that it wont.

Did you chose to strip out any unwanted audio or subtitles from your .vob files? That could be why it's coming back smaller than what you put in. Just a thought.

I usually don't keep the subtitles. But even the ones that I keep everything it still comes out samaller than the origonal. It doesn't seem to affect the video quality so I guess that is the inportant part.
