  1. hello, i am having trouble with the sound of SVCD. I used DVD2SVCD to create the SVCD, and when i burn it onto a cd, the sound is lagging when played on my dvd player, however when i play it in powerdvd on my computer, the sound is fine. I have used a SVCD on my dvd player before with no hassles. I was told by another member that the problem is probably the way i am burning the SVCD. I have tried mounting the image using daemon tools and doing a cd copy in clone cd, and i have also tried using nero and buring the image, however none of these works. I have had a look in the tools sections on this site, but i am not sure what to use.....could somebody please tell me the best way to burn a SVCD. Thanks,
    Trish :P

  2. Hi m8,

i myself have had the same problem!!! however, i dont think your problem is with your burning software! try getting a svcd that you played on your stand alone and playing it on your pc, i BET the audio is in synch right??

if it is then this cant be a burning issue!!! I found that certain players played the audio fine while with other the audio was slightly out of synch! i dunno how to fix this so all i can suggest is that your tick the box which allows you to audio downsample from 49Khz to 44 but it didn't work for me!!!!

if you find a way to fix the problem plz let me know!

i use cce 2.50 and nero to burn the image file

I've had this out of sync problem on just 1 DVD. All the rest have come out fine. It's out of sync only on my standalone, PowerDVD plays it fine.
My problem has something to do with audio format of the DVD. All my other movies have had a wav file produced during DVD2AVI but it won't extract a wav file on this 1 DVD.
It is a DVD of 80's music film clips.
    Still no fix.

  4. freak_in_cage_10k: I still think it is a burning problem, because (you're right) the SVCD that works fine in my stand alone player also works perfectely in PowerDVD. However i did not create this SVCD, i got it off a friend, and i don't know how they created it(because he got it off a friend of a friend of a friend..........).I am still to create a SVCD that works without the sound lag on my stand alone.

At the moment i have 3 DVD's on my computer that are ready to be burnt into SVCD. They are, Gone in 60secs, Kiss of the Dragon and The Fugitive. I have burnt a copy of each, and all have the same problem of the audio lag on my stand alone player, and they all work perfectly on PowerDVD. If aanybody knows how to fix this problem please help.

    Thanks for the quick response

  5. :P :P PROBLEM SOLVED :P :P
I solved the problem of the audio out of sync. Instead of buring the SVCD image that DVD2SVCD creates (.cue), I just burnt the MPEG2 file. To do this go to the movie folder in the DVD2SVCD folder (or where ever you told DVD2SVCD to save the files)The MPEG 2 file is bbMPEG_Muxed_File00 If you have 2 SVCDs the second CD MPEG file will be bbMPEG_Muxed_File01 EASY!!!!! I just used VCD Easy to burn....can't be simpler. The only problem i had when burning was that i left my screensaver on and it froze everything. Thanks to all that helped

  6. Trish- i have tried this before and i still get the smae problem (although it may be that just burning the mpeg file reduces the no of players which struggle with it, rather than eliminating!) also, if you dont burn the image file you wont get chapters m8

  7. I didn't have any chapters. When DVD2SVCD converted the DVD to 2 SVCD images, there were only 2 mpeg files of the movie both about 750MB. The only problem i found in burning just the MPEG files was that you don't get the DVD2SVCD logo at the start and the 'change cd' picture at the end. But i think i could have added them in if i wanted to. This method fixed my audio sync problem....well for now.
    Cheers,
