I have an ATI Radeon VIVO 64 DDR and am trying to capture video from my camcorder with ATI software (VideoIn 7.0). The captured mpeg-2 PAL 352x288 file is perfect. Then I use DVD2avi and TMPGEnc to make smaller, mpeg-1 files. But the audio and video aren't synchronised!!! I also tried Ulead VideoStudio 7.0, but the audio is again unsynched. The first minute is OK, than the next scene is already unsynched, (that's funny... it's OK until the next scene, between these there's like 2 seconds without audio and video - seems the synchonisation gets lost because of this) than later the delay gets even bigger... What could I try to fix this?

Also... I get audio only from my left speakers. How do I covert a mpg file with audio on the left speaker only, so that it has the same audio on both speakers?

    Thank you!

  2. Im a newbie at this also, but....
I had simular problem. I could capture MPEG2 audio sync was
fine but when converting it would get messed up.
Audio started out OK but it would get off the further you went in the
    video.

I started capturing to avi format and then converting and all
    the problems went away...

    Good Luck

Thanks chinknhead, I'll try that! But with avi format you need a huge hard disk, right? It takes much more than mpg?
