  1. I've been trying to get my Win TV PCI on XP running with IUVCR. IUVCR is the only program I know of that can schedule captures in AVI. The first problem is that the Pinnacle drivers cause IUVCR to crash on statup (No surprise).

I installed the Sourceforge drivers (Coxen..something), which did work. However, when I schedule a capture, the capture actually defaults back to the coax input. Worse, all the 'default' values for the Cox... settings are basically random and maxxed out!

I can set all these values in the crossbar and then caputre manually just fine. But each time IUVcr starts, those values are set back to thier original screwed up values. Saving a profile doesn't help, the crossbar mustbe saved elsewhere.

I don't know if I should give up on IUVCR. I haven't seen another program that will let you schedule AVI (Required) caputures with S-Video. Am I just plain out of luck? Would getting another video capture card with a different chipset have better luck on XP/IUVcr?

    Very frustrated, thanks!

  2. pinnacle drivers are not that good i think, so good for getting rid of them.

i believe there is another version of virtualdub called virtualdubVCR or something. it has a timer in the capture settings and you can schedule things in there. haven't tried it yet though.

i am using the "universal bt8x8 drivers" but i can't remember where i got them. think they are different from the soundforge one.

    hope that helps a little

  3. Thanks! VirtualDVR is great. That coupled with installing the NT 3.11 NFW drivers on XP, made everything work fine. And VirutalDVR will allow channel tuning to be turned off, so it keeps my compression and s-video settings.

  4. glad i could help. i wish i could get a good quality picture off my tv card so i could do some timed recordings. i think there is too much rf and i have a clear (plastic) case so it must not be grounded too well.
