  1. Can I open TMPEGnc , start the first half of my conversion and then start TMPEGnc again to start the 2nd half?

Can I open several windows of TMPEGnc for several cnversions?
    Will this slow the conversion?
    Will this harm the conversion?

    Thanks,

If you can do it (I'm not sure you can) it will double your conversion time. Best to do one half, then the other by using the Batch File conversion in TMPGEnc. If you use the wizard, then at the last screen select "Create Another Project for Batch Encoding." Enter the second job and then select "Start Encoding Immediately." (Or create another project, then cancel to bring up the batch list.)

If you don't use the wizard, then you have to use "add current project to batch list."

Also, you can queue up as many jobs as you like. You can edit the batch list or save it for encoding at a later time!

  3. Yes you can do this but as TmpGenc will normally take 100% of your CPU time you won't see any benefit. Some might say it will actually slow down the whole process due to your system constantly switching between jobs. If you are low on memory then this might be noticeable. If you have plenty of memory it probably wouldn't be but whatever you do it won't speed things up. Follow Zippy's advice and use the batch encode mode of TmpGenc.

  4. Thanks for the help, I tried the batching last night so I'll find out how I did when I get home later.

    Thanks,
