  1. Hello,

Another newbie question. I have a couple of AVI files and I noticed they are in PAL format wheras I know that my TV supports NTSC only. Do I have to convert AVI PAL to AVI NTSC first and then proceed to AVI -> MPEG or it's possible to do it in one operation (I'm using TMPGENC). If I need to use a different piece software for PAL-NTSC conversion what is best to use?

    Thanks

  2. as long as in TMPG you leave "do not frame rate conversion" unckecked, the converted MPEG will be 352x240 (or what other NTSC resolution you choose) and an external frame rate of 29.970 but an internal frame rate of 25 fps. this will allow the video and audio to stay synched and still be NTSC compliant.
