Basically you have to import your subtitles seperately.

I use SubRip for subtitle ripping in .bmp format and DVD Maestro for authoring.

Give IfoEdit a try, it's free and does the work too, but you need to rip your subs in .sup format.

  3. You should do what MrSnake said -- Subrip and DVD Maestro...

Now if you want to use your own subtitles (writing one yourself)... You need Sub Station Alpha (SSA) proggie and MaestroSTB. In SSA, you make the subtitle you want... MaestroSTB will convert that SSA file to a SON file which Maestro will accept.

Hey Guys. I'd like to make my own subtitles as well. However, I don't own DVD Maestro. I bought Ulead Dvd Workshop. Is there any way I can author my own DVDs with subtitles I can turn on and off using DVDWS to author them?

    Cheers.

  5. I think I had workshop b4 -- came with something I bought... Anyways... Most DVD Authoring programs are basic stuff... Totally basic I mean... They will just mux a m2v and ac3/wav or take a mpg/avi and make it into DVD... That's about it...

Maestro and Scenarist are more complex / have advanced features that will allow you to do anything. Your best bet would be to ask your "friend" to let you borrow his copy and play with either Maestro or Scenarist.

  6. Can someone help me too.
I have used dvd2svcd to make dvd complient AC3 and mpv streams. Now i wish to add subtitles (i have maestro). Now my problem is I only wnat subs from selected chapters not the whole movie.
Can I uses dvd2svcd to select the subs( selectabel subs) and then convert them to an approproiate file for maestro or do i have to rip them using subrip from scratch and if the latter is the case how do I just rip an individual chapters subs and then mux them wiht my ac3 and mpcv streams in maestro without messing up the timing. I did try to imporst them separately from subrip but the timing was way out!
