  1. I have been trying to put a couple of movies in vcd format on one dvd-r with movie factory 2. I basically followed the guide, except I used TMPGENC to convert from 44khz sound to 48khz (because if I didn't, MF2 kept reencoding the video too).

Anyway I successfully ended with a DVD-R with great menus and all the movies in there. Only when I play it on my Pioneer standalone, I noticed some flickering and bad interlacing - I say bad because I think there are inverted fields or something because the interlacing can be very noticeable in some scenes.

The weirdest thing is : when I open the .IFO's generated by MF2 with IFOEDIT, it says the programs are in 352x480 resolution while what I expected was 352x240 (as the original vcd movies obviously)

Any idea why the # of lines isn't correct ?

Any alternative authoring software which will do it correctly ?

    Thks in advance

    Jim

(sorry for posting in the wrong forum, but I thought it was the right place because of the "Can I burn VCD or SVCD on DVD±R/W?" sticky)

I had same problem on some ntscs vcds authored as dvd(audio converted to 48khz). It didn't matter what authoring tool I used, spruceup, dvdit or ulead. Burned on dvd+rw and played on my pioneer dv-444.
