  1. ok i converted a divx file to mpeg-2 with tmpegenc but the lowest the bitrate will go is 33.89% of disc i need it like 32% so i can add 2 more files of the same length (55min) is there another program i can reconvert this with to get it a tad smaller or a different program i can conver the other 2 videos with to get them to pick up the slack for this one being a tad bit to big?

no. it tells you at what bitrate you should encode to fit it on a disc.

  6. yeah well that doesnt help me i can do the math myself....just the problem is tmpegenc doesnt encode it small enough it stops me at 33.89% of disk the file is only 55min long and was divx to begin with so the bitrate isnt all that high anyway....i need something that can make it smaller.

  9. well tmpegenc wont go lower then 2000kb/s and the video doesnt look any worse that compressed then it did as a divx and i only need it like a hair smaller like 1900k/s if that prolly 1980 33.89% disc space is how much space its gonna take up on the dvdr and i need to fit 2 more of these files on it.

TMPGEnc caps the minimum bitrate at 2000 because some authoring prgrams won't accept lower bitrates. Try changing the settings to the DVD format WITHOUT loading the DVD Template. Just make the settings identical to the DVD Template and then lower the bitrate. Cause you haven't loaded the template you aren't restricted.

Information for the DVD resolutions and audio formats are here...

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvd

It must be these resolutions, if the DivX resolution isn't the same as the ones on this page then you have to change it to one of these.
