  2. It's advisable to search the subject headers before posting a new topic.

    There is no one way; there are different types of DVD's, there are different formats in which to back-up, and there are different methods to accomplish all this - most will require a basic familiarity of the software and file types in question.

    All are easy to find by taking the time to read the variety of posts in this forum.

    I'd figure out how to use dvdbackup or osex, wait for dvd2one to come out for mac os x (in a month or so), and get yourself toast.

  4. thanks for the link, but when I backup the file, the file is too big for burning. what program do I use for compressing the file for 4.7 dvdr? Or can I remove some of the files that are not the movie?

  5. That's what dvd2one does, they posted a screen shot of the mac os X version, so perhaps it's a matter of weeks til it comes out.
