  1. I have a divx with ac3.
I extracted the wav (and renamed it to ac3 )using virtualdub without errors.
When I used headache to convert the ac3 to wave i get an error on a corrupted sync on the last part of the file...and the conversion process is aborted.
How do i get round the problem and create a vcd from the divx file.
I also want to add subtitles before the final conversion.
Would apreciate constructive input by anyone who knows the answer

The process started like this Warning:
    Source file's last frame incomplete
    or corrupt stream

    and ended like this
Bad Syncword at frame 102500! The AC3 stream is probably corrupt.
    ...done
    Closing I/O thread ...done
    Freeing buffer memory ...done

    Process aborted!

I always had problems using Headac3he (good name). I now use Goldwave whenever Virtualdub can't handle the extraction. Just load your Avi in directly (takes a while) then save (takes a while more). Done. 8)

It can be kinda slow and your system isn't the fastest, did you wait a minute or two to see if it starts to process?

  5. I prefer Besweet with the Besweet gui its fast and works for jus about anything to ac3 and ac3 back to almost anything. I've only done mp2's though but it did those back and forth great I can't see why it wouldn't do anything else just as well.

  6. Goldwave doesnt load the file..it crashes before it can.
I am working with a pentium3 800mhz and geforce2 system..which should be enough to do what i want to here..what i need are sugestions which will get around the problem i originally started with...namely ac3 conversion. Is there anyway to fix the file that was created by virtualdub or is there some other utility besides goldwave that can ac3 convert.
Again thanking anyone with constructive input.

Use the AC3fix which you can find in the tool menu and use it to fix your AC3 sounds and then load it in to headache.

That program have fixed all my corrupted AC3 except one time when the sound file got 6 seconds smaller then the movie.

  10. Ok the besweet utility created a wav file that is garbage!
    I cant use it!
The avifix utility didnt work...it doesnt open for some reason...maybe im missing a trick or something with regard to working it.
I have found a couple of bad frames in the divx which i cut out and saved as a new avi.
I then extracted the ac3 file using virtualdub and tried converting it again to wave.
There is still corrupt frames in there! (in the same area i cut out before!
What do I do now to get this divx converted?
Anyone who has new ideas from start to end of the process will be most welcome....Im running out of ideas here! (Short of cutting almost the whole movie up!)
