  1. this will probably show my real noobness, but under the suggestion of a couple post I decided to check out kvcd templates and I have two questions about them.

    1. one has a resolution of like 704 x 480, is there dvd players that will play that?

    2. the more interesting one to me, none of the templates include sound why is that ? Dont most people want sound with their movies or are them templates for presentations or something?

  3. ah I see thought the 352 x 240 thing was a standard or something I guess I'll have to experiment and see how high mine will go thats interesting thanks. and as for the multiplexing that sounds a bit complicated yet hehe I'll wait to learn that.

its not that complicated. 352x240 is the standard. anything else is not. a lot of dvd players will play them, though. but there are still some that won't.

which dvd player do you have? you can check the compatibility chart to see if yours plays non-standard or xvcds.

  6. I got a toshiba sdk510 and I checked the compatibility and its not so good ive been trying some experimental vcd's on it an it seems I can only get that minimum res on it, I think sometime in the next month or so Im gonna get an apex since for some reason they seem to be the cheapest of the dvd players and support more formats than most others, but will have to read up on which players support the higher resolutions
