  1. Office Depot recently had their brand of 48x 100 pc spindles on sale (web site only) for $14.87. I had a $15 off $30 coupon and if you over over $50 shipping is free. After discount and local taxes, I was able to get 4 spindles at about $12 each shipped. What deals have you been able to find lately?

  2. Staples has been having rebate deals on CD-R pretty regularly. Last one was Optimum 100 spindle, after mail-in rebate, 5 dollars. Before that Sony and Maxell 50 spindle, after rebate about 2.50 each.

  4. Staples and Best Buy usually have some sort of CDR special where after rebate it would come out to about $5 for a pack of 50. Its usually different brands every week. I like to wait for the Sony's to go on sale. I'd stay away from the Optimums b/c CMC magnetics makes them.

I wait for 100 spindles of Imation at Office Depot or Staples, they're usually around $9-10 after rebate. Only brand I use (old in-car player that only likes silver disks reads them)

I ran one of my recent Optimum CD-Rs thru VCD-Easy's identifier and the manufacturer came up Mitsubishi this time. It was also the deep blue dye (Cyanine) as opposed to the light yellow. But the Optimum you buy in a Staples in your city might be different. I think they buy from many suppliers.

  10. I just got a fantastic deal! I went by the local Staples to buy some paper, and walked by the sale table at the front of the store. They had Maxell 40x 100pc 650MB spindles on clearance...$4.94! I asked if there was a rebate, the cashier said no, they're $4.94. I asked if there was a limit, the cashier said no. I was nice, and decided to leave a few for someone else. I left 3 spindles and brought 10! A thousand discs for less than fifty bucks!
