    Hello there,

I'm hoping someone that uses DVD2SVCD can give me an advise how to "lower" the permanent subtitles. As you can see on image below - this is how all my ripps look. I would be very happy if anyone out there could tell me how to get, if not all but much of the subtitles further down.

I "always" chose to add borders to my ripps - still I don't seem to get it right
I've also tried to change the STD. Y-pos and EXT. Y-pos - but it just won't work. Please if anyone knows - tell me.

    Regards

    EvIL

  3. OK I actually have a question for, you are adding permanent Subtitles right ? and are you making a Standard SVCD or an XSVCD...?
Check out my guide on converting .OGM format to an SVCD with Selectable Subtitles and Multiple Audio tracks.

    Hello DivXerouS,

    I am making (standard) SVCD's.
    Since I'm a Swede I mostly/normally make PAL SVCD's with
    Swedish subs.
I have never made any XSVCD's, is it easier making XSVCD's
    with subs??
I'm very satisfied with the outcome of my SVCD's (DVD-backups),
    except from the subs.
Unfortunately no one seems to be able to help me !?

    Thanks

  5. The thing is XSVCD's are Non Standard (the X stands for Xtended BTW I had to find that on my own) XSVCD's, have a very high bitrate and can enhance the movie further more, but your DVD player has to support it. For the Audio I usually don't downsample it to 41,00HZ but leave it at 48,00.HZ cuz it plays perfect on my DvDPlayer. I usually squeeze the Video in a little bit more by lowering the Audio to 192. I prefer XSVCD's due to that fact they come out really good and have very little Macroblocks. Very little.

Now the thing is that I have not found anything on the net or any post that explains about XSVCD's with subtitles but I found an interesting link that says that
it is impossible to have Subtitles & multiple Audio tracks with XSVCD's
    here is the link:-

    http://www.matco-video.com/DL/6XX/VCD_DVD.PDF

I have no confirmation if that is true or not because noone has said anything about it, and according to the guides available they usually require you using I-Author to Mux the subtitles and Audio (BTW I-Author is not available anymore), this is the information I have found so far. If you have any other questions please ask I will try to help you the best way I can...

One more suggestion came to mind. Since your making Standard SVCD's, maybe you should try making SVCD Selectable Subtitles. Are you making Permament or Switchable subtitles....?

If you don't understand what I'm saying try this link as well. Very helpful.
