I have bought from Buy.com before and the rebate form looks like its from Pinnacle.

It's similar to the Instant Copy one. I purchased Instant Copy from Amazon.com with a similar rebate form for a final price of $19.

    Maybe Pinnacle are in trouble??

  4. Or maybe they will release a new version in 6 months and charge $50 for upgrade?

  6. I had Studio8 and returned it to bestBuy after two weeks. It was the buggiest POS program I have ever ran into. Also be aware it will only recognize a capture card made by Pinnacle plus the program is the slowest of all I have tried (that is assuming it doesn't crash or lockup your computer).

You get what you pay for. Studio 8 has not yet reached the point of maturity to be usable as advertised. Maybe some day but not yet.

  8. I used both Studio 7DV and Studio 8AV with the latest patch. Both
programs work fine for me. They are very easy to use. Both of them
work for me with Pinnacle or non-Pinnacle IEEE 1394 cards. It is ture
the programs are far from bug free.

My major complain is that their AV card is far worse than other AV to
DV converters. If the video signal is very good, it works OK. If the video
signal is not very good, the card has many problems. I paid about $50
for the Studio 8AV (after rebate). I guess I got what I paid for. But if
you use their IEEE1394 to capture from DV tape, I think this is a very
    cost effecient way to go.

Hi - this was just for info.

If you don't want it don't buy it....

At $13.99 it's worth a look for me. If its buggy now, then lets hope updates will come and fix the bugs. This product has been out in previous releases for a while now so I trust they will get release 8 working.

I use IC7 and like it, so who knows.

xxiangg, I use a generic firewire card so worth a go, thanks.

At this price point I feel I'm making a statement to the company saying, yes I will buy your software if the price is right....
