  1. hi all,
my problem is that i have a Xvid movie i want to convert to Mpeg-2. i convert the video ok but the sounds quality is very bad when i convert it to 25fps. Is there any way to convert wav files to 25 fps from 29fps without lossing too much quality

  2. simply rip the audio out of the XViD with Goldwave And Using Besweet To Convert It To 25fps then multiplex your audio & video when using DVD2SVCD or simply load your video (25fps) + audio (25fps) into TMPGenc.

  3. i've done that and the film works ok, but the probelm i am having is that when you convert the wav file from 29fps to 25fps it gets very distored. i.e the people voices done sound the same as they do in the Xvid movie. they are not even close.

When you say distorted do you mean slowed down and slurred sort of thing?
If you just convert the audio to 25fps then you are slowing it down...this will also change the pitch of the audio too....Try using the Time warp feature in Goldwave instead of Besweet...this preserves the pitch of the audio when it is shortened.

  5. the sound is kind of BASS'ey( i.e it not as sharp as what it originally). but it does still stay in snyc with the audio

  6. Do an IVTC on the Video. then convert the audio from 23.976 to 25. Sounds better than slowing it down.

I'd still recommend trying the Time Warp feature in Goldwave...I use it all the time to convert the audio when I convert NTSCfilm (23.976fps) to PAL (25fps)...and I never get any loss in quality.

  8. Right because you are going from 23.976 to 25
    Not 29.97 to 25.

Wouldn't make any difference.....the pitch would still be preserved.

  10. when you go from 29.97 to 25. You make the file longer, thus interpolating samples to make it longer, loosing quality. 23.976 to 25, the file is shorter, so you drop samples.

    It does make a difference
