Hi, I have read the guide on how to make a one cd vcd, I followed the instructions but it wont appear in the wizard part when you go hit project wizard in Tmpgenc, I have the 2.510 version if this helps. I must have done this part atleast 30 times already. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  6. I use it and it works for me. That's all I try to make now since I don't like to get up and change the VCD to see another part of the movie.

  8. Toward the end of setting it up, I lower the bitrate and also the audio rate if need be to make it fit the size of the CDR I'm using. I use 700 MB 80 min CDR's. Now if you want better quality you might want to use 2 or more CDR's but I like the fact that it is on one CDR.

When you get to the screen that you have a choice of "other settings", click on that. It is in the lower part of that window. Then you can go through each section and make changes you want made. The only thing I usually change is the bitrate and the audio rate.

  10. why would you want to do that??? once you stray from 1150 bps, the vcd is non standard and most likely won't play on a dvd player. If you are looking to fit on 1 cd and play on the pc, then i would do divx which gives much better quality than vcd would on the pc..

You're right, it's non-standard but lots of DVD players (including mine) will play it judging from the number of people making 1-disk VCDs.

What is the point in making a 'one disc VCD' anyway, normal VCD are rubbish so compressing the movie more is just going to be awful.

I use VBR to encode so the quality doesn't change and for kids movies (or if the source isn't that great anyway) it's fine. To each his own!

  14. I like the 1 cd VCD because I don't like to get up in the middle of the movie to change the disc. I am watching the movie, not trying to critique the picture so it works for me. When I get a DVD writer then I will think about having a better picture but for now this is fine for me.
